Mental Health Occupational Therapist
Alissa is an experienced Occupational Therapist who has worked in public and private Mental Health services in both Australia and the UK for the past 16+ years. She has worked in both acute and community based roles at Alfred Psychiatry and Epworth Mental Health Unit.
Alissa has particular interests in perinatal mental health, parenting, mind/body connection and supporting individuals with sensory challenges to be able to be participate in meaningful activities. She is also experienced working with those experiencing anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation. Alissa offers a respectful, collaborative, transparent and non-judgemental space for individuals for explore what’s meaningful for them.
She uses a range of modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) informed, Sensory Modulation, Mindfulness and Interoception. Therapy is underpinned by a Trauma informed approach, Polyvagal Theory and the Recovery framework.
Alissa is Medicare endorsed through Better Access to Mental Health and therefore rebates are available for 20 sessions per calendar year. She also sees people through NDIS with plan or self-managed plans.
