Clinical Psychologist

Clare is a warm and compassionate clinician who has worked collaboratively with individuals across the lifespan for over 25 years. Clare’s strength is her ability to form a comfortable therapeutic relationship with individuals and provide practical and effective coping strategies. Clare is dedicated to helping individuals alleviate emotional distress, enhance wellbeing, and improve quality of life.
As a Clinical Psychologist, Clare has worked across a diverse range of settings including psychiatric, pain management rehabilitation, educational (primary and secondary sectors) and private practice assessing and treating a broad range of psychological issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, adjustment problems, insomnia, body image, eating and weight management issues.
In addition to individual work, Clare has conducted workshops and small groups for children and adolescents to promote social and emotional literacy, develop emotional regulation skills to manage stress, and build strategies to optimise learning and academic performance. These group programs have accommodated both neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals. Clare has also led workshops and information sessions on a variety of topics to support parents and carers in raising children.
Clare’s individually tailored treatments utilise a client-centred approach grounded in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and a variety of evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.
Having completed a Master of Psychology (Clinical), Clare is registered by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and holds a full membership of the Australian Psychological Society and the College of Clinical Psychology.
Fees:
The cost of a 50-minute consultation is $210 payable at the end of the session.
Discounted fees may apply to Health Care Card holders, Veterans Affairs Card holders, pensioners and full-time students.
Individuals who have a current Mental Health Care Plan can claim a Medicare rebate of $136.35 per session limited to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Private Health Insurance rebates may also be applicable however cannot be used in addition to a Medicare rebate.
Referrals may also be accepted from Transport Accident Commission (TAC), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
